International cuisine

Due to me moving house and all, I haven’t been able to cook for the past couple of weekends, so I’ve decided to go through my travelling photos and find a few photos of food I sampled around the world. Apologies for the slightly blurry quality of some of these photos, I had a terrible camera while travelling.

Stone choco balls – taste like M&M’s and were the best tasting chocolate on holiday – Thailand

Blurry photo but you can just make out the prawn, as big as the red snapper my friend ate. I ate it at the beautiful fish market right on the harbour – Kota Kinabalu, Borneo

Fish sticks – I hate fish as a rule of thumb but these dried fish sticks are amazing. They don’t fill you up too much and are much healthier than crisps. Here you can see my travelling buddy posing with them! – Malaysia

Singapore Sling – sipped down ones of these at the infamous Raffles hotel – Singapore

Bento box – the Japanese version of a sandwich at lunch, bento boxes are full of delicious kimchi (pickled veg), sticky rice and usually a choice of meat. This box cost £4! – Japan

Vending machines – you can’t be anywhere in Japan without being able to get refreshment, probably due to the humidity – this picture was taken in Hiroshima, Japan

Kobe beef – the most delicious and beautiful steak I have ever tasted. Truly delicious. I can die a happy woman knowing I’ve tried it! I was told to try it on its own, and then try it with the various flavourings presented on the plate, like dried garlic pieces and lemon salt. I had a 3 course meal for around £25 in the Royal Mouriya http://www.mouriya.co.jp/en/ – Kobe, Japan

Sorbet dessert – small but packed full of flavour and beautifully presented. I can’t remember what flavour it was though. This was part of my 3 course meal – Kobe, Japan

Peaches – absolutely huge! And right in the centre of Tokyo!

Japanese barbeque – I tried cow’s stomach here without knowing before hand and I have to say it was delicious. – Tokyo
