Strawberry Shortcake Cookies and Classic Cheese Gougères

Aloha my lovely blog readers, I do apologise for the length of time it has taken for me to get another blog post up, time simply gets in the way!

Anyway, today I made some delicious strawberry shortcake cookies using british strawberries! Unfortunately they have to be eaten with a day according to the instructions, though I’m sure my colleagues at work won’t be too disappointed! The recipe is from Martha Stewart’s website.

I also made some classic cheese gougères – a cheesy puff if you will. They’re made with gruyère which is one of my favourite cheeses with it’s tasty nutty flavour. I think these would be great warmed up and perhaps served with a little butter (or salami?!). They’re extremely light and make a great savoury snack. One of my best friends hates sweet things (I know, why is he my best friend?) and also the IT team at work only like savoury, so I’m sure they will appreciate these as well. I got this recipe from the Bon Appetit website. Click on either of the images to see a couple more photos from the gallery.
