I rushed these a bit, not my normal perfection I must admit, but I think they look pretty enough. Sadly the shops where my parents live had a distinct lack of cake decorations so I opted for cherries instead.
I used Betty Crocker vanilla frosting and coloured it with icing colourings. I think gel ones would [...]
Aloha my lovely blog readers, I do apologise for the length of time it has taken for me to get another blog post up, time simply gets in the way!
Anyway, today I made some delicious strawberry shortcake cookies using british strawberries! Unfortunately they have to be eaten with a day according to the instructions, [...]
Due to me moving house and all, I haven’t been able to cook for the past couple of weekends, so I’ve decided to go through my travelling photos and find a few photos of food I sampled around the world. Apologies for the slightly blurry quality of some of these photos, I had a [...]
A friend been declaring his love for chocolate and pear cake so I looked up a recipe online and found a great one from The Chocolate trading Co (click for Recipe). I then warmed 50g of 85% cocoa organic chocolate and drizzled it over the top, covering the pears. I love the way the chocolate [...]
We have been lucky of late with the beautiful sunshine. I walked to work via Southsea seafront the other morning and spotted these flowers in the gardens along there, so I went back yesterday and made the best use of the natural daylight. In fact it was so bright that many of the flowers came [...]
Here is my competition entry for Woman and Home’s cupcake competition.
I baked cupcakes in silicon cases so they were easy to get out. Then I made a saucer and cup from fondant icing and used melted fudge on the top of the cupcake to make it look like tea!
I call it the cup-of-tea-cake!
I simply haven’t had the time to produce any beautiful food lately – I am going to do it this weekend!

I had been thinking about making some nice mini pies and was inspired when I went to Asda; I cheated this weekend and used their Apple Compote and crème pâtissière to fill them. I’m sure you could easily fill the middles with your own mixture. I felt the crème pâtissière added something to [...]
I’ve been trying to find a good savoury muffin recipe for ages and finally found on courtesy of Delia Online. I used her recipe for the muffin mix but changed the ingredients and used bacon lardons, white onion, sage and cheddar. I think it would have benefitted from using parmagiano instead, but they are very [...]
Just another couple of shots of my latest bakery capers…I read up about food photography and took some advice from a friend. I realise the focus is slightly off. Will keep practicing!

I love Portsdown Hill, it has such a magical quality about it. These photos should be loved for the colours, they have such an aesthetic vibe about them.
I took these photos during a weekend with Josie. I love the lomographic style of the photos when I was just messing around!
